Roles and responsibilities
Nick is a highly experienced and well-respected financial accountant who has an impressive knowledge of financial management issues, spanning financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting and costing, particularly in the public sector.
Although he has delivered significant revenue gains for government organisations from reviews of processes or the development of new fees and charges, Nick’s recent projects have focused on internal and external cost recovery by Commonwealth agencies.
Nick also provides technical advice, particularly around asset capitalisation issues, specifically computer software improvement and has advised government agencies regarding their accounting policies, to meet international standards and improved governance.
His considerable experience in government financial processes and internal business requirements has allowed him to deliver a significant number of successful financial viability reviews of organisations, whom the government is either considering appointing as a contractor or to receive funding.
Previous experience
Before joining Oakton Nick was the CFO of Commonwealth Funds Management, which was responsible for the investment of over $6 billion of CSS and PSS investment assets. He has also held senior financial positions for a number of publicly listed companies. Nick commenced his career working for Touche Ross & Co in London and Sydney in its audit practice.
