Roles and responsibilities

Ben is a well-respected, senior IT strategist who delivers BI programs that tangibly improve the quality and accessibility of information as well as substantially contribute to evidence-based decision making.

Experienced at implementing Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions into Australian organisations, Ben has developed strong relationships within senior executives of some of Australia’s largest companies as well as leading software vendors.

His depth of understanding in the BI industry, the drivers behind successful programs and his ability to apply the lessons learnt, has enabled him to successfully deliver some of the largest BI programs in Australia.

Ben is experienced in the definition and implementation of Information Management (IM) Strategies and has been responsible for the detailed planning, design and delivery of significant programs of work in BI, DW and ECM within a range of industries including government, utilities, property and construction, telecommunications, finance, and manufacturing.

Previous experience

Before joining Oakton, Ben spent over 12 years in the Data Warehousing (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) industry in a range of roles including commercial management, business development and senior consulting. Ben has worked predominantly in Australia but also has had considerable experience across Europe and the UK.

Education

Post Graduate training in Project Management at the Australian Graduate School of Engineering Innovation (1997)

Graduate from the Bachelor of Manufacturing Management from UTS (1996 - Scholarship)
