Michael joined Oakton in 2005 as the inaugural General Counsel, having spent over 20 years in private legal practice.

Prior to joining Oakton, Michael specialised in IT contract law and data protection law, practising at one of the major national law fi rms for six years and before that as a partner for eight years at a Melbourne based law firm. In private practice, Michael acted for major Australian and multinational ICT customers and suppliers, as well as Federal and State Governments.

Michael’s role is to advise the Oakton Group on its legal obligations and ensure compliance with relevant legislative and legal requirements. He has particular responsibility for overseeing the negotiation and drafting of contractual arrangements with clients and software partners.
