Oakton undertakes a number of activities in the community from volunteering with community organisations to our support for the sustainability and wellbeing of the communities in which we operate.

We work with a number of organisations that have been carefully chosen on the basis of their relevance to the community, the ability for our employees to become involved in their activities and the contribution they make to cultural, youth, and sports organisations.

The Oakton Community Program is a company-wide initiative that encourages and facilitates the great community spirit and involvement that exists among our people.

Oakton enjoys long-standing relationships with a number of charitable organisations throughout Victoria, NSW, Queensland and the ACT.

Oakton and our employees contribute to the community through their involvement in:

Team-based sporting activities
Run for the kids, Cancer Golf Day, Round The Bay In A Day bike ride, and the City to Surf Run.

Employee initiatives
These include the Lend Lease Community day, where our team participate in a day of cubby house building for a school for children with special needs, Lock up the Boss for Kids Help Line, and Movember.
Supporting organisations such as Sacred Heart Mission St Kilda, Special Kids Christmas party, Marymead Child & Family Centre, St Vincents Hospital Institute, Alfred Road Trauma Foundation, Womens Breast Cancer Research Program, The Smith Family, Oxfam, World Vision Australia, the Brosnan Centre, Woman For Woman,
CanTeen and Starlight Foundation.

Cultural interests
The National Museum of Australia, Advisory committees, professional services, community service programs.

Supporting Education Initiatives
These include Swinburne University of Technology’s Awards for Excellence 2008 and the 2009 Queensland Smart Classrooms Teacher Awards.
